About the Greater Tehachapi Economic Development Council

The GTEDC is made up of professional and business owners who care about our community. We assist the City in attracting new businesses; we support local businesses at Council Meetings or Planning Commission Meetings. We’re a support group and a voice for Tehachapi’s businesses. We are proud of the many businesses that have chosen to relocate to our beautiful valley. They are enriching our local economy and further diversifying our employment base. We are dedicated to working with existing businesses in the community to make sure their needs are met and expand. We are dedicated to growing Tehachapi.

Our mission will be accomplished in these three ways:

• Attracting new business and industry to the Tehachapi area that will create skilled, high-wage primary jobs.

• Assisting existing primary business opportunities through a pro-active business retention and expansion program.

• Creating a business environment conducive to entrepreneurialism by providing educational support and technical assistance to primary businesses in collaboration with partnering agencies within our City and County.



Tourism                                                                                              
We help to expand tourism in the Tehachapi Valley by working with the Tourism Commission, Main Street Tehachapi and the Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce. We’re active in the community because many of our board members are active leaders in the community. We help to attract people to our community to live, work, shop and dine in Tehachapi.
